Bindertech Store

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026. This policy explains how Bindertech Store collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services.

1. Who we are

Bindertech Store operates an online marketplace in Rwanda. For privacy enquiries, contact us at support@bindertech.store or business@bindertech.store.

We process personal data in line with applicable Rwandan law, including Law No. 058/2021 relating to the Protection of Personal Data and Privacy.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:

  • Account data — name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form) when you register or sign in.
  • Order and delivery data — full name, phone number, delivery address, order items, payment method, order status, and order notes you provide at checkout.
  • Guest checkout data — the same order and delivery details if you check out without an account. Guest order IDs may be stored in your browser so you can track orders on the same device.
  • Support communications — messages you send to customer support.
  • Technical data — browser type, device information, IP address, and cookies or similar technologies needed to keep you signed in and operate the site securely.

3. How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • Process and fulfil your orders, including delivery and payment verification.
  • Provide order tracking and customer support.
  • Manage your account and, if you choose, link guest orders from your device.
  • Improve platform security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Communicate with you about your orders or important service updates.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their marketing.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data where necessary to perform a contract with you (for example completing a purchase), where required by law, and where we have a legitimate interest in operating a secure marketplace — provided that interest is not overridden by your rights. Where consent is required, we will ask for it clearly (for example optional marketing, if offered in future).

5. Who we share data with

We may share limited personal data with:

  • Merchants and fulfilment partners — to deliver products you ordered from their listings (name, phone, address, order details).
  • Service providers — such as hosting, database, and image storage providers that help us run the platform under contractual safeguards.
  • Authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, order records for accounting, tax, and dispute resolution, and account data while your account remains active. We may retain certain records longer where required by law.

7. Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including secure connections (HTTPS), access controls, and hashed passwords. No online system is completely secure; please use a strong password and keep your order ID private if checking out as a guest.

8. Your rights

Under Rwandan data protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, object to certain processing, or lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (the National Cyber Security Authority — NCSA).

To exercise your rights, email support@bindertech.store with enough detail for us to verify your request. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage for session login, cart contents, and remembering guest order IDs on your device. These are necessary for core site functions. If we introduce optional analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

10. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact support and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the revised policy.

12. Related policies

See also our Terms of Use and Returns & refunds.

This policy is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice. Businesses operating in Rwanda should obtain independent legal review for full compliance with data protection and consumer laws.
